Action:

1) Open the file SYSTEM.INI in Notepad:

a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Programs', select 'Accessories', and select 'Notepad'. (The 'Untitled - Notepad' window appears.)
c) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open...'. (The 'Open' dialog box appears.)
d) Type the following in the 'File name' box and click 'Open'.
<drive>:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI
(where <drive> is the letter name of the local hard disk).

2) Locate the following line and remove the semicolon (;) or 'REM' in front of the statement:
DRIVERS=MMSYSTEM.DLL
3) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save' to save the SYSTEM.INI file.
4) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Exit' to close Notepad.
5) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
6) Select 'Shut Down...'. (The 'Shut Down Windows' dialog box appears.)
7) Select the 'Restart the computer' radio button and click 'Yes'. (The computer restarts.)
